It happens every year like clockwork: I make too many plans, have too many houseguests, go out to too many late dinners and taste too many wines, trying to write too many stories leading into the holiday season. Every year, during exactly this week as the deadlines are stacking up, I get sick. The pressure in the eardrums. The pinch in the neck. And then...nothing.
