Todd Thrasher at TNT Bar
The marble counter at TNT is designed to emphasize the theater of cocktail making.
Thymes Like These ($13)
Thrasher did a tasting menu at PX last year for Valentine's Day based on he and his wife's relationship, called "A Restaurant Love Affair," and this was the second cocktail on that menu. "It comes from a Foo Fighters song," says Thrasher, "and the lyric is: It's times like these you learn to love again."
The cocktail is made with Citadelle gin, Cocchi Americano, kaffir bitters, and mixture of thyme and lime. It's very boozy, lightly citrusy, with a noticeable herbal aroma.
Curly and The Turk ($11)
One of the "Road Trip" selections, this warming—and brightly colored—cocktail comes from Tad Carducci from The Tippler in New York. It's made with Citadelle gin, blue Curaçao, lemon juice, chile-hibiscus syrup, and Bitter End Moroccan bitters. The syrup is very sweet with a lingering spicy finish.
Metal Surrenders When Oak Trees Meet Fenders ($13)
This cocktail is made Smooth Ambler Old Scout bourbon, Massenez Crème de Pêche, sorghum pine cone water, and Angostura and peach bitters. It's undeniably peachy, with a soothing pine aroma.
It Doesn't Remind Me of Anything ($12)
Inspired by an Audioslave song, this rum-based drink is made with Captain Morgan's 100 rum, Flor De Caña 4 year rum, Don’s Mix, grapefruit and Angostura bitters. Thrasher admits that rum is his favorite spirit.
