We've already given some love to the stellar salted coffee and caramel milkshake at Greenburger's in San Francisco, but sometimes our cravings run towards something simpler. That's when we order their dutch chocolate shake.

What's New On Serious Eats

Like any good shake, the one at Greenburger's starts with quality ice cream. The dutch chocolate from Straus Family Creamery provides a deep, not-too-sweet chocolate flavor with a little hit of dark chocolate bitterness. Most importantly, the shake is thick enough to stay on your spoon, but not so thick that you turn blue in the face trying to slurp it through a straw. It's good enough that we felt just a little giddy to discover almost a whole second serving in the stainless steel mixing cup that had arrived alongside our glass.
