I feel like I can't escape from advertisements for the movie version of 'The Help', but I must say I was a little surprised to see a tea tie-in. Have you seen the film? Is there a lot of tea drinking in it?
This tea, inspired by the caramel cakes in the movie, smells wildly sweet and a bit like buttery caramel popcorn. The vanilla aroma is bit overwhelming. But the flavor is mellow and full, with enough black tea bitterness to balance out the rich scent. It's not necessarily a dessert tea (it is caffeinated and not too sugary, after all) but would work as a midmorning pick-me-up with a splash of milk and a scone. If you like the dessert teas made by Celestial Seasonings, this one will probably appeal to you.
$9.50 for 50 tea bags, available online. Sample provided for review.
