Choco-PB-Banana Shakes at Chubby's Cheesesteaks in Milwaukee

Chubby's Cheesesteaks mostly attracts a late-night postbar crowd with their location on North and Oakland in Milwaukee. When people stumble in for a sandwich to soak up the alcohol, they probably don't even realize that they should save room for Chubby's ice cream desserts and creamy milkshakes.

The Famous Shake is a combination of chocolate, peanut butter, and frozen banana, just like my mom used to make when I was a kid. In Chubby's version, the three flavors complement each other well, and none overpowers the other. It's pretty over-the-top sweet, but the banana cuts through the nutty chocolate milkshake nicely.

While a bit on the thin side, the shake has bits of frozen banana and a heavy swirl of chocolate around the inside of the cup. The sweet whipped cream on top is a nice touch, though they'll ask you if you want it left off. You're drinking a milkshake—go for it!
