I can't help thinking that the Grilled English Cheddar Cheese ($12) at The Dandelion Pub in Philadelphia was made with indecisive hungover stomachs in mind. Ideal for bleary-eyed late-risers, it's breakfast and lunch in one, equal parts bacon and eggs and grilled cheese and pickles, a dressed up version of Kenji's Grilled Cheese Eggsplosion.
When it comes to morning-after eating, it doesn't get much better than this. Paper thin pickles and crisp-chewy bacon are sandwiched with melty Quickes English Cheddar between buttery slices of Pullman. Plop in a runny fried egg that coats everything in yolky goodness and this is the kind of sandwich that will leave your tender stomach satisfied, lined, and perhaps even ready for another cocktail.
