December is something of a heavy-drinking month, with office parties and friends' festivities, family dinners and escaping-from-the-family bar visits. And we lucked into some delicious sips along the way.

This month, we prepared for the upcoming Thanksgiving season by tasting around one hundred wines, celebrated Cider Week and cocktail festivals, and the East Coast office took Serious Eats Overlord Ed out for a flaming Tiki drink. He liked it.
July's been hot, and most of our favorite drinks served a simple purpose: get us cool, and fast. Some of these sips were frozen, some chilled down in a running stream (wading while you're at it helps.)
This June, the Serious Eats team traveled far and wide, and these sips are a peek into daily life across the globe, from Kenya to Hungary to Kentucky.
As the weather heats up, our drinks cool down: this month, our favorite sips included boozy slushies and old school sodas along with some favorite cocktail bar discoveries.
We do love our cocktails at Serious Eats, but this month, many of our favorite sips were booze-free: salep in Istanbul, cendol in Queens, and fresh juice in Ireland, to name a few. Of course, there were some top-notch cocktails, too, including one of the best Old Fashioneds we've ever tried.
A truly great drink is an occasion in itself—finally opening that bottle you've been saving is something to celebrate. (And we're jealous that Kenji had a great bottle of Burgundy to open.) But sometimes the occasion can make a great drink even better—rosé, shared straight from the bottle, is even more delicious on the perfect spring picnic, and Irish whiskey (in a cute sweater outfit) is much more fun on St. Patrick's Day. Here are some of our most memorable sips from the past month, from bourbony beer to salty 7-Up.
February was a month of traveling for many on the Serious Eats team, and those trips meant some pretty exotic sipping: a straw stuck into a fresh coconut in Thailand, a lager on the beach in Kenya, a mix of housemade frozen yogurt and strong coffee in Vietnam, and hot Coca-Cola with ginger in Hong Kong. (Some of us just stayed home and enjoyed some under-$20 wine, but we won't complain.)
