Your weekend drinking plans are something of a conundrum. Daylight Savings has given us another hour of evening sunlight, but if it's snowing come happy hour, you might not be feeling super happy. Here's our advice on what to drink this weekend, depending on the weather where you are.
If you're getting those 8 inches of powder that folks have been predicting, my apologies. There are two ways for you to drink this weekend. Option number 1: Imagine you're elsewhere. Picture yourself on a boat on a river somewhere beautiful and tropical and warm. Mix up a real mai tai or one of these escapes-in-a-glass.
Option number two is to dig in, pour yourself something strong, and warm up from the inside. Mix up a high-proof Old Fashioned with some 100-or-so-proof bourbon or rye and watch the snowflakes fall. Looking for more high-proof drinks? Here are a few ideas.
Wet and Rainy with Signs of Spring
All those showers will eventually bring spring flowers. Look on the bright side with a cocktail featuring herbs or floral liqueurs—perhaps a Lavender French 75, fancied up with an easy lavender syrup, or try mixing a little elderflower liqueur into this vodka-blood orange concoction. Trying to get excited about your upcoming herb garden? Try a drink with basil or with mint. Herbs and flowers come together our favorite thyme-scented sparkling drink.
Stop bragging. Drink a Lime-A-Rita.
