There's pretty much nothing wrong with a perfect Pimm's Cup, and we tend to divide the year into Pimm's Cup Season and sad, cold Non-Pimm's Cup Season. The Pimm's Cup is refreshing on a hot day, plus it's easy to make in a big batch, and it rewards a little creativity and garnish-related improvisation. But if you have a whole bottle of Pimm's No. 1 and you've drunk a Cup or four already, you might start to wonder what else you can make with it.
Over the past few years, we've done a little experimentation. Kenji came up with the Pimmlet, a Pimm's-seasoned Hendrick's gin gimlet served in a cocktail coupe, and shared a recipe for The Rookie Highball, an Irish Whiskey highball made with a little Pimm's, plus lemon and Angostura.
Where do you go from there? We asked a few bartenders from around the country to share their ideas for Pimm's cocktails light and serious, from fresh fizzy drinks to stirred spiritous options, and put them to the test here at Serious Drinks HQ.
