On a hot harvest day, any thirsty winemaker will tell you that it takes a lot of beer to make good wine, but the truth is, it also takes a lot of good wine. Drinking wines from around the world can help inspire and educate winemakers, giving them context and helping them learn the different results of varying winemaking techniques. (Winemakers also just like to taste other people's wine because tasting their own is work!)

We asked 17 winemakers what they like to drink when they're not drinking their own wines. Here's what they had to say.
