Portland Cocktail Week (PDXCW) founder Lindsey Johson says, "Portland is an incubator for cocktails, and home for fun and dorky bartenders who geek out without the pretentiousness." Johnson says, "This is a great platform to bring the best in the industry together to teach and learn from other luminaries in the field."
This year's theme is "Back to School", and includes daily seminars on all things cocktail. The last day of school will be celebrated by what is sure to be a wild and ironically-trashy Jagermeister party with Jeffrey Morgenthaler at the helm. Portland Cocktail Week sponsors over 100 bartenders by paying for their classes and room and board in the effort to make this opportunity a reality for any bartender looking to improve their skills, forge new relationships, and have a great time. Over 400 RSVPs have already come through and the numbers keep climbing.
While many of the events of Portland Cocktail Week will only be open to industry professionals, there are a number of ways curious drinkers can enjoy the craft cocktails that will be served at a rate unheard of even by Portland standards. Want to check out some of the action? Below are a few events that are open to the public. Tickets for many of these events are selling fast, so get on it.
