"My favorite place right now is Jones on Santa Monica. It's near my house and I love the cozy nature of the bar area. Right now, I'm into Old Overholt Manhattans. I picked up a love of rye whiskey from my years bartending in Denver."

"Unfortunately I live too far away from Westwood Boulevard's Fundamental LA to be a regular. It's a sandwich shop by day that turns out super-refined plates by night. It has a small but excellent wine list, and is one of the only restaurants in town to offer wines from Oakland-based micro-importer Selection Massale. The place where I can be found most frequently is Night + Market. The food is the main attraction for most people there, but it also might be the venue in town where I would be happy drinking every bottle on the wine list. Chef Kris loves the Loire Valley as much as I do."

"I like the divey bars. When I'm not behind the bar mixing and concocting, you will find me in the seediest, darkest, open at 6 a.m. spots. I love The Drawing Room for that, plus I can just stumble home when I'm done. As far as drinks, I used to be a really big bourbon guy. Wild Turkey 101 might still be my go-to if I end up at a place I'm not in love with. I can just order that, no problem. The bartender might look at me like 'Really?', but they'll pour it super heavy and only charge me $5."

"Even though I used to work long and hard nights at this spot, I still find myself sitting at the R & D bar in the back of Harvard & Stone at least once a week. My favorite drink from the front of the bar is still Baby's First Bourbon. Bourbon, orgeat, lemon, and bitters. You can't go wrong."

"I mostly drink at Father's Office in Culver City, because it's close to my house. I'll usually see what IPAs they have. They get a lot of great allocated beer, like Pliny the Elder, which they almost always have on. I'll mix it up, see what's new, what they just tapped, what they only have one keg of. They're great for that."

"We just revamped the bar at The Churchill, so it's hard to find the time to get out anywhere. When I am available, I usually end up at Jones on Santa Monica. When I'm there I order tequila, neat."
