Those of us fortuitous enough to live in the Pacific Northwest know that we must cling to every moment between July and September as though they were precious stones, if only to remind ourselves why we endure the damp gloom enshrouding our corner of the country for the remaining nine months of the year.
A typical Portland summer consists of long stretches of 80- to 90-degree weather, sidewalks crowded with long-dormant outdoor tables, and, of course, copious amounts of beer.
