Just about every talented cocktail shaker out there probably got his or her start as a barback squeezing 500 limes each night; or pouring Bud Light at a grungy dive; or making rum punches for a beach club's "Luau Night."

We asked 10 bartenders all across the country where they got their starts; here's what they had to tell us.
