Hello, Peat Monster
My Friend Jameson
"My favorite dive is actually in San Francisco. It's called 540 Club. I spent my formative early 20's here making friends with the bartenders and locals, and making enemies with Jameson Irish Whiskey. The staff and regulars are awesome, and that's what makes a dive bar. Nobody goes for the weird smells and cocktail list." — Rhea Buckner (Bleecker Street Bar, HiFi)
It's A Bit Early For That...
"My favorite dive bar was a place called TS Muttleys in Washington, DC. It was a Red Sox dive bar on a major corridor in the Adams Morgan neighborhood. You could always get a cold beer and lots of Jameson at any time of day. It stopped being my favorite dive bar when I saw someone throw up on the floor at lunch time, then carry on with their food and drink. That was a bit much." —Dave McCabe ( Punk's Backyard Grill )
Karaoke and Wings
"I don't think they'd mind me referring to it as a dive bar but while I lived in Melbourne, FL, Chumley's was always good for a beer and some wings after a long day in the ridiculous Florida humidity. Oh, and karaoke Tuesdays. Some day the people of Melbourne will forgive me..." —John Cummins (The Dawson Lounge)
