Deviant Dale's Double IPA
At the Colorado Beer Week Opening Ceremonies, the guys at Oskar Blues were serving up beer-can-chicken alongside their awesome brews. Deviant Dale's, their Double IPA, was my favorite with a nice balance of malty sweetness and hoppy bitterness.
Denver Beer Co. Colorado Weiss
This spontaneously fermented wheat beer from Denver Beer Co. stood out from the crowd at the Opening Ceremonies. Its bright, crisp flavors combined with just enough spice notes make it perfect for porch drinking.
New Belgium Tart Lychee
The newest offering in New Belgium's Lips of Faith series, Tart Lychee is a sour beer using lychee fruit. This was one of the most interesting beers we tasted all week.
Dry Dock Green Chili Double IPA Firkin
On Tuesday, Dry Dock unleashed a firkin of their Double India Pale Ale with green chilis. The bitterness and spiciness played off each other very well.
Throughout Colorado Beer Week, FreshCraft offered a selection of Colorado-inspired tapas (dubbed CO.APAS). The scotch egg with Colorado goat cheddar sauce paired with Avery Brewing Co. White Rascal was our favorite.
FreshCraft Beer & Food Pairing Dinner with Oskar Blues
FreshCraft also held a beer and food pairing dinner featuring beers from Oskar Blues. My favorite course was the Hops & Heifers Ribeye Bangarang paired with Deviant Dale’s. Yes, I've mentioned this beer before. It's that good.
CAUTION: Brewing Co. Tap Room Opening
On Friday, CAUTION: Brewing Co. of Denver celebrated the grand opening of their new tap room adjacent to the brewery.
CAUTION: Brewing Co. Toaster Bat Black
This inky black robust porter offered the familiar aroma and taste of a campfire (in a good way).
CAUTION: Brewing Co. Lao Wang Lager
This light, crisp lager is brewed with 'secret Asian spices' used in head brewer Danny Wang's father's restaurant, the Lao Wang Noodle House.
