Our 5 Favorite Pairings from Get Real's Beer n' Balls Festival, NYC

This year the Get Real NY team has shifted their focus from hosting beer fests that happen to have food to carefully curating food and beer experiences. These aren't events for pretzel necklaces and hastily assembled platters of cheese cubes. What's on the plate has become just as important as what's being poured. Their latest event, Beer n' Balls, paired meatballs (and one veggie ball) from 12 NYC chefs, restaurants, and bars with craft beer from around the world.

We ate our way through the pairings—both traditional and the unique—and did our best to sample as many of the 70-plus craft beers and homebrews as we could. Click through to see the tastiest of the meatball-and-beer pairings.
