Manchester Pub’s Flash-Fried Meatballs with Oskar Blues Deviant Dale’s IPA
Manchester Pub’s Flash-Fried Meatballs with Oskar Blues Deviant Dale’s IPA
Flash frying the combination of pork, bacon, and cheddar created a great crust that gave way to a moist and tender center. This was a meatball that spoke to our baser instincts and washing it down with Deviant Dale’s was a decision that was bad for us in all the right ways.
Blind Tiger’s Kefta with Saison Dupont
Blind Tiger’s Kefta with Saison Dupont
Our top food pick of the day: chef Thomas Harder’s Middle Eastern meatballs, which combined wild boar, grass-fed beef, and elk in a spicy orange tomato sauce. Saison Dupont was a perfect foil to the dish’s cumin, mint, and subtle heat.
Alewife Queens’ Soup Dumpling Meatballs with Two Brothers Cane & Ebel
Alewife Queens’ Soup Dumpling Meatballs with Two Brothers Cane & Ebel
Berkshire pork by way of Chinatown, Alewife Queens’ playful soup dumpling meatball was the most original bite we had all day. We loved the rush of pork stock when we bit through the liquid center. Cane & Ebel’s sweet and spicy rye character paired well with the richness of the pork and the heat of Sriracha.
The Chocolate Life’s Mole Poblano Meatballs with Keegan Ales Mother’s Milk Stout
The Chocolate Life’s Mole Poblano Meatballs with Keegan Ales Mother’s Milk Stout
Chocophile Clay Gordon combined Mexican chocolate with a blend of chilis for his turkey meatballs. Keegan Ales’ rich and sweet milk stout was an ideal partner.
