Spiked Thin Mint Milkshake
We wanted a Thin Mint milkshake that wasn't just a lame blend of the mild flavors in mint-chip and chocolate ice cream. Bright peppermint flavor is enhanced with a little peppermint schnapps and just enough tequila to make it vivid without making it boozy. To bump up the chocolate flavor and cut the sweetness a little, we added unsweetened cocoa powder. The result inspired squeals of delight at Serious Eats Headquarters: it's really fresh and really minty and really chocolaty, with cookie bits and a crown of whipped cream. A worthy use of one precious sleeve of Thin Mints.
Spiked Samoa Milkshake
Samoas, with their rich caramel sweetness and chewy coconut texture, are a bit tricky to duplicate in milkshake form. The key to success is a handful of toasted coconut bits within the milkshake itself. Rather than using milk for this one, we thinned out our dulce de leche ice cream with coconut milk for an extra-rich tropical treat.
Spiked Do-si-do Milkshake
This little oaty peanut butter sandwich cookie is relatively straightforward, but it inspires quite a tasty, intense milkshake, enriched with peanut butter and nutty Frangelico, plus a touch of cinnamon and nutmeg. If you feel like straying from the original a little, this would be even more awesome with some banana sliced into it.
Spiked Savannah Smiles Milkshake
Savannah Smiles may be the Girl Scout cookie you're least familiar with. These little horn cookies are lemony-tart and dusted with powdered sugar. Our extra-thick milkshake version gets its tartness from fresh lemon juice, lemon zest, and lemon vodka, balanced with the creaminess of many, many scoops of vanilla ice cream.
Spiked Trefoil Milkshake
If Trefoils are your go-to Girl Scout cookie, you probably are drawn to the classic, simple things in life. Our shortbread-inspired milkshake is essentially a traditional bourbon-spiked vanilla shake, except with one Momofuku Milk Bar-inspired twist. The milk for the shake is infused with toasted Trefoil cookies, Cereal Milk-style.
