Only in San Diego do you expect a Christmas beer to have a hoppy blast of grapefruit on the nose—but that's what you get from AleSmith Brewing Company's holiday Imperial red ale.

It's creamy and rich, with very fine carbonation and a sweet fruity hop character. Think red grapefruits with melted brown sugar on top, cream soda with marmalade and a hint of coriander. It's a Christmas beer for hopheads, with just a bit of bitter grapefruit peel on the finish. Pair this delicious beer with marmalade-marinated grilled shrimp and a big bowl of chips and guacamole, or try sweeter Thai noodle dishes.

Do you like your winter beers hoppy? Have you tried YuleSmith?
