Cool Drinks, San Francisco: Raspberry Spritzer at Cowgirl Creamery Sidekick
When I first picked up my raspberry spritzer ($2.75) at Cowgirl Creamery Sidekick, I was worried by its pale, almost translucent pink color. I don't know what I was expecting, but there were probably pureed raspberries and tropical umbrellas involved. One sip quickly dispelled my fears, because this drink is not watery or lacking for flavor. In fact the raspberry syrup provides a strong, fruity flavor that tastes as much like real raspberries as a syrup can.
This drink is on the sweeter side. I'd put it below a traditional Coke and above a Fizzy Lizzy on the sugar-scale. Still, the bubbles makes it refreshing, and it's a nice way to wash down one of Cowgirl's delicious grilled cheese sandwiches.
