This mouthfilling riesling from New York's Finger Lakes reminded us of sweet mandarin oranges and creamy peach yogurt—it's super smooth on the palate, almost like glycerine. This plump and fruity wine had nice hints of fresh basil, and a delicate pillow of lemon-chiffon acidity, but it could have used a bit more zing and minerality.

A little sweetness is a very good thing when you're looking for wines to pair with fragrant Thai curries or sweet chili-sauce stir fries, but this one wasn't quite lively enough to keep our attention unaccompanied.

Around $15, sample provided for review.
