Spot of Tea: Davidson's Tulsi Hibiscus Flower
Tulsi is a type of basil plant (also known as holy basil.) But you won't mistake this tea for pesto or Thai food; it's subtly earthy and fruity, with a bit of tartness from the hibiscus.
Made with all-organic Tulsi, hibsicus, cinnamon, lemon peel, and orange peel, this delicate caffeine-free blend supposedly enhances the immune system and serves as an anti-stress agent. The tulsi provides a mild minty green flavor, but it doesn't stick out from the rest—the flavors get a bit muddled, though some of our tasters appreciated found the tea more multidimensional than other hibiscus teas we've tried (such as Tazo's Passion). Try it on ice.
Around $3 for 8 teabags, available online. We received a sample for review.
