Hangover Helper: Migas Tacos at Veracruz All Natural, Austin
I often finding myself reaching for chips in the cupboard after a long night out—my salt cravings go from their usual moderate levels to something downright urgent—so I think I've found a new favorite breakfast taco in the Migas Tacos at Veracruz All Natural, a juice and taco truck in an Austin gas station parking lot. There are a lot of migas tacos out there, but I love how in this one, the crumbles of chips actually keep some taste and structure; they've got a corn-y taste and a little crunch, not just dissolving into the rest of it. With eggs, the crunch of cilantro and onions, and a creamy, avocado-based sauce that's mild-looking but intensely, jalapeño-laced spicy, it's a satisfying breakfast in a non-sloppy way, and cheap enough ($2) that you can order multiple without a thought. The bonus: their agua fresca, served in a Big Gulp-sized Styrofoam cup for $3. We loved the canteloupe, tremendously refreshing and a much more fun way to rehydrate than Gatorade.
