Nestled in the shelf at Peels, right above baked goods and that killer 3-in-1 Pie, is the housemade Horchata ($4). This is what I want to drink every day as the weather gets warm. This silky and refreshing rice milk is barely sweet, and lightly dusted with cinnamon and vanilla.
Some may complain that the cinnamon flavor is too delicate—if you're looking for more, all you have to do is a head a few blocks west to Pinche Taqueria, where the housemade Horchata ($2.75) has a robust kick of both cinnamon and nutmeg.
