At recently opened Little Oven in Long Island City, macarons, delicate madelines, and Cherry Blossom Gateaus are must-trys. But don't forget the drinks!

Teas are served with careful consideration. You'll find loose leaf blends by Mariage Frères and Japan-based Lupicia, which has a big following on the west coast and throughout Asia but is rarely seen in NYC.

The highlight, though, is this cheery house-made Raspberry-Lychee Soda ($3.50). It's gently fizzy with small bubbles, and a burst of fresh raspberry flavor. The lychee chases after each sip. It's crisp and refreshing, thankfully more fruity-sweet than sugar-sweet. If you're in the neighborhood, you may have just discovered your go-to summer drink.
