There are a few non-alcoholic options at The Modern Bar Room that you should know about. The first is the Modern Punch ($7), a tropical drink of a deep orange hue. For those familiar, it bears an uncanny flavor resemblance to the popular Hawaiian drink, POG. Here we can pick out flavors of orange and passion fruit. We dearly miss the guava in this refined version, but is certainly more sophisticated, and less sweet.
Pictured above is the Modern's housemade Lychee Soda ($7), a fantastically simple blend of pureed lychee, simple syrup and seltzer water. It's so uncomplicated and totally delicious—I'll be replicating this at home.
The Modern is also serving a few proprietary sodas (made in collaboration with P&H Soda Co., previously seen on Serious Eats here.) Chamomile Grapefruit or Hibiscus? Not sure I can choose between them.
