Cool Drinks, NY: Soojong Gwa at Dok Suni

At Dok Suni in the East Village, the meal check is presented with a shot glass of the house ginger-cinnamon tea. You'll surely want more than just a shot, which is why they also sell it chilled for $4 a glass.
Cinnamon sticks and ginger are simmered in hot water to bring out the flavor, and a little rock sugar goes a long way toward sweetness. The cinnamon is dominant, but the spicy ginger slips in and out with each spicy, refreshing sip.
