In a tall pilsner glass, add 3/4 ounce jalapeno-infused blanco tequila, 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice, and 1/2 ounce Velvet Falernum. Add crushed ice and stir.

Add more ice

Fill the glass with additional crushed ice. The second layer will float on top of the first.

For the second layer

Pour 1 ounce white rum, 1/2 ounce lime, 1/4 ounce blue Curaçao, and 1/4 ounce simple syrup into a cocktail shaker.

Fill the shaker with ice cubes and shake well.

Carefully strain the blue mixture over the crushed ice.

A few embellishments

Squeeze an orange twist over the top of the drink to express oils. Garnish with the twist and a healthy mint sprig.
